Best Early Retirement Blogs

When I started this blog I had no idea about another existing blogs about early retirement. Of course I knew they exist, but I just didn’t know them. From that time many things changed so today I would like to introduce you the Best Early Retirement Blogs I found since beginning. You can ask “Why John is increasing traffic on other sides and not promoting only his sides?”. The answer is that idea about early retirement can be exhausting for many people so it is also about getting as much inspiration as possible. The second reason is that I like this early retirement idea so much so I want to share experiences of others as well. Today you will find also blogs of already retired people, so please enjoy their stories as much as I did.

Honestly speaking, we all seek for inspiration somewhere. You can read books (but I don’t know about any book which helps you with early retirement plan). You can talk with your friends (but my friends are just to busy with spending all their money, so the have no time for early retirement plan). Or you can search on internet and get inspiration from there.

As 10 Year For Retirement is somehow fresh idea, there is more topics on internet than in paper form so here is my recomendation related to early retirement blogs.

Mr. Money Mustache

Please see his short explanation related to his blog which you can find here.

Mr Money Mustache is a thirtysomething retiree who now writes about how we can all live a frugal yet Badass life of leisure.

My wife and I studied engineering and computer science in Canada, then worked in standard tech-industry cubicle jobs in various locations throughout the late ’90s and early 2000s.

Then we retired from real work way back in 2005 in order to start a family. This was achieved not through luck or amazing skill, but simply by living a lifestyle about 50% less expensive than most of our peers and investing the surplus in very boring conservative Vanguard index funds and a rental house or two.

This blog was born in 2011 out of exasperation. Six years into this early retirement, life was going well and our little boy was growing up nicely. But many of my friends and former coworkers remained broke, constantly complaining about how hard middle-class life is these days, and how much they would like to be able to afford to lose at least one of their six-figure salaries so someone could stay home with the kids….

Early Retirement Extreme

Please see his short explanation related to his blog which you can find here.

ERE is a set of principles that are based on a systems theoretic approach to “lifestyle design” allowing each individual to create their own robust strategy to a flexible lifestyle that is resilient to economic shows and which meets all needs and reasonable wants while minimizing ongoing costs and effort.

The website was founded in 2007 and currently comprises four parts: This blog, an associated forum, a wiki, and a book. It started with the blog in 2007 but shortly thereafter I began to simultaneously write a book to create a more comprehensive description of the philosophy and how to live it. The book was published in 2010 and contains a complete canon of the design principles. Also in 2010 requests for a forum reached critical mass and I decided to start a forum. The wiki was started in 2011.

The blog was mostly written between 2007 and 2010ish at which point I felt like I had little left to say that I hadn’t said already. Not many new posts were written in 2011 and since then it’s been automatically recycling old posts and comments have been switched off. However, the forums are still quite active….
